BBC on the right track to accessibility

Posted on Tuesday 10th May, 2011

I've been badgering the BBC for a couple of years now to make the excellent My Web My Way website much more user friendly by adding 'how to' videos to the site.  After all, people with a variety of impairments are very easily put off by a long list of text instructions.  If you can see how to do it on screen, you're much more likely to be able to make the changes for yourself.

Can I declare a vested interest here? I have narrated many of the videos now on the new site.  For example, you might want to know how to enlarge the text in Mac OS X or you might want to know how to change the keyboard settings in Windows 7

Thankfully, for these and a host of other necessary adjustments help is now at hand.  Rather nice of the BBC to do the IT providers' job for them isn't it?
